An extremely large oak framed barn.  We are immensly proud of the finished renovation works.  We purchased the derelict site in July 2001 and spent the next 18 months carefully renovating and rebuilding the frame.  The barn was on the 'Buildings at Risk' register, but we can safely say it is now an extremely comfortable country residence.
The Entrance Hall offers a large cloaks cupboard for coats and walking boots and leads to the Inner Hall. Open to the eaves, this is the first glimse you get of the full height of the barn and usually leaves people stunned!   Through the open timber framing you can see both the Kitchen/Breakfast room and the Sitting Room.

A huge 'walk through' inglenook fireplace divides the Sitting Room from the Inner Hall.  The chimney is so large that even the solid fuel advisory board had never advised on such a big flue!  The Sitting Room is ideal for relaxing and has large comfy sofas and leather chairs.

The very well equipped Kitchen/Breakfast Room has a range style cooker, 2 x fridge freezers, 2 x microwaves, 2 x dishwashers and vast granite worktops ideal for catering for a crowd.  The chef can be kept company by others sitting at the cocktail bar and watching the food being prepared.  The separate Utility Room has a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The Dining Room has a glass roof and views of the garden with double doors leading out onto the patio area. It can comfortably seat 30 with 3 tables of 10, or one large table for 20.
Our Bedrooms have been decorated in a comfortable country style in keeping with the barn and all of the rooms have exposed oak timbers and offer television, video & radio alarm clock.  The Master Suite has the added attraction of a balcony overlooking the garden.

All rooms have white bathrooms with wonderfully powerful showers and there is plenty of hot water. The Master Suite bathroom has twin washbasins, double shower/steam cubicle with granite bench and a spa bath large enough for two.

Outside there is a Patio with gas BBQ leading to a vast enclosed Deck. This deck overhangs the pond, but as it is fully enclosed offers a safe playing area for toddlers and children* and is so large they can even ride their bikes on it, whilst the adults can sit and relax and watch the ducks or the sun setting.

The barn stands in over an acre of landscaped gardens with areas such as the formal garden with lawn, the 'falling down wall' and the meadow orchard, which are all growing well and developing nicely. The large pond at the back of the barn is known as 'Horse Pond' as this is where the farmers used to wash down the horses after a hard days work in the fields, this is now home to a collection of ducks.
*We do still recommend that all children and toddlers are fully supervised by an adult when in the grounds, including the deck area.
